Comporta
Secret Paradise
Comporta is surrounded by several villages, including Carvalhal, Possanco, Torre and Carrasqueira, a protected nature reserve, bounded by the Sado Estuary, the Atlantic Ocean, Alentejo region and Tróia Peninsula. Access to Comporta is made by road or ferry and is just an hour's drive south of Lisbon.
From bird watching, horseback riding on the beach, surfing, cycling, dolphin watching, strolling through villages and rice fields, or simply exploring the Roman ruins of Tróia, located on a sandy peninsula 10 minutes from Comporta, there are countless activities in this perfect refuge, full of sun, dunes, and sea. With an ocean as far as the eye can see and white sandy beaches surrounded by dunes, vegetation, and rice paddies, Comporta is a vibrant location all year round. Nearby you will find Melides, Grândola and Alcácer, and each village has its own unique character.
And when it comes to food, this region presents us with innovative dishes, with a high attention to detail and the use of fresh locally sourced products. And of course, we can't forget the restaurants and places with a cinematic view of the sunset and the Atlantic Ocean.
